Greetings from Kris Kennedy

It is the beginning of the busy season for many of us -- but for others all seasons are busy.

As I’ve had the opportunity to say before, make sure your busy life does not detract from your priorities. It is so easy to let the business run us. Remember to take time for yourself, your family, and your convictions. Also, it’s just as important to rest.

Well, we have made the transition in our administration. I will tell you that this transition of executive directors has been one of the smoothest changes with which I have been involved.

I sincerely thank Steve Graves and Paul Romans for their diligence, cooperation, and professionalism in moving the NSSA office from one set of hands to another.

Many of you have had the opportunity to meet Paul at our various Spring Events. The Board is very pleased with Paul’s enthusiasm and efforts to assimilate the national headquarters to his methods.

I want to thank each of the Board of Directors for his/her efforts and support in the hiring process. The Board is doing a great job at governing and supporting us throughout the changes.

Thanks, also, to you the members, for giving Paul your input. I know he appreciates getting to know you and the Association through you. Keep giving us your thoughts — they have been very helpful.

All of our Spring Events are over now. I hope that you got a chance to attend one of them because they were fantastic. I commend each of the hosts for their efforts in organizing quality, fun, and successful trainings and network gatherings. Make sure you take time to read about the events in this newsletter – they were great.

October 2001 is not too far off, so make plans now to attend our annual conference in Phoenix, Arizona. (See article on page 4.) “Power in Excellence” is our theme, and I know you won’t want to miss this event.

Hey, have a great summer season. I look forward to seeing each of you in Phoenix. I leave you with this question…(if you were at the conference in Nashville, it will make sense)…Are you paying it forward?

Until we are together!

Kris Kennedy
